Supporting women’s health from the inside out
Healthy bacteria are required to support both the digestive tract and the urogenital tract in women. For example, most urinary tract infections (UTIs), often referred to as cystitis, are caused by a species of bacteria called Escherichia coli (E. coli), which generally lives happily alongside the good bacteria in the gut and urogenital tract, but can sometimes grow and cause infection.
The urogenital tract comprises both the urinary tract and the vagina and both contain a microbiome (bacteria) in the same way as the gastrointestinal tract. Lactobacillus is the primary bacteria of the vagina of healthy women and the growth of too many other strains can lead to an imbalance in the natural bacteria of the vagina.
This bacterial balance may be affected by a number of factors, including hormonal changes (particularly menopause), menstruation, childbirth, the gut bacteria, sexual activity, contraceptives and antibiotics.
Multi-strain live bacteria, including three Lactobacillus strains
ProVen Women’s Lactobacillus & Bifidus with Cranberry contains three Lactobacillus strains – two Lactobacillus acidophilus strains and Lactobacillus gasseri, which is a key part of the vaginal flora.
Each one-a-day capsule contains 17.5 billion live bacteria, combining the Lab4 consortium of bacteria with Lactobacillus gasseri.
Each capsule also contains cranberry extract and vitamin B6, which contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity.

Menopause Rebel Plan
We are super-excited to announce that we have developed a six-week plan to help support women in (or about to enter) perimenopause and/or menopause.
As a (very!) perimenopausal woman myself, I understand that it can be a really difficult time for many women, with a wide range of symptoms that can vary from annoying to debilitating – and it can last for 10 years or more!
And Jennifer Stoute, the ProVen Probiotics brand ambassador, has experienced menopause and during this time started to experience bloating and some changes to her weight and energy levels – despite being a super-fit ex-Olympian and gladiator (codename Rebel).
So together we decided that we wanted to put together a programme that provides simple tips around the key areas of health and lifestyle that can have a direct impact on health and menopausal symptoms.
With 15 years’ experience in nutrition and nine years at ProVen Probiotics, specialising in gut health, I have so far managed to avoid many of the more difficult symptoms associated with perimenopause. And, with her competitive background, Jennifer is a master in mindset and believes that personal responsibility is the key to achieving objectives and staying healthy.
When you join the programme, you will receive three packs of either ProVen Probiotics For Women or ProVen Probiotics with Digestive Enzymes (depending on which product you choose) and we will send you an email every Sunday for six weeks with information, activities and tips relating to a specific lifestyle aspect. Recommended daily intake
As a food supplement for adults, take one capsule per day with food. Increase to two capsules per day if this is felt necessary. There may be certain times of the month when an increased supplemental dose might be deemed desirable.
