Exercise and kid gut health
If you’re anything like me, you will have been experiencing some protestations from your children this week regarding going to bed at night and getting out of bed in the morning. Encouraging children to see and derive the benefit between exercise and kid gut health is becoming more paramount during these times of increased infections and being lethargic.
The first week back to school can be a challenge for parents, as it often means changing sleeping patterns, resulting in tired children and a higher number of melt-downs and moods.
Luckily, we still have some time to enjoy after school as the nights have yet to draw in, and getting outside in the evening can help to boost mood (both ours and our children’s) and to support our sleep.
I have spent the evenings this week playing badminton in the garden with my 10-year-old, whilst my older children have either been at sports training or have taken advantage of the light evenings to spend some time out-and-about with friends.
I have made sure that each of them eats a healthy breakfast, drinks enough whilst at home and has a nourishing dinner to end the day. I pack healthy lunchboxes for the younger two, but as they get older it gets more difficult to control what they eat and drink when they are not with me, so I have also once again started introducing their daily supplements to help support their immune systems as we head into autumn and they spend more time indoors and in contact with other children.
