Probiotics for IBS

Can probiotics for IBS help your symptoms?

Taking probiotics for IBS is thought to help restore the natural balance of bacteria in your gut and this can have a positive effect on your overall well-being.

Of course, eating a healthy diet and reducing caffeine, alcohol and sugar intake, can all help to support the production of neurotransmitters, chemical messengers in the body which help to regulate mood and thus help to manage stress.

And ensuring we are getting all the nutrients required to help our digestive system to function correctly will also help to balance our microbiome, reducing IBS symptoms and supporting the absorption of nutrients to further support neurotransmitter production (a virtuous circle).

Some key nutrients to help support a healthy diet include magnesium, zinc, vitamin D, fish oils and friendly bacteria – and research into the Lab4 friendly bacteria in the ProVen products shows both support for IBS and anxiety.[1],[2],[3]
